Abstract:
@EN Artificial genes coding for artificial polypeptides with nutritonally valuable amino acid compositions were chemically synthesized, cloned into expression vector pHK414, and expressed under the transcriptional control of the lac
promoter-operator in
E. coli. The Cro-repetitive artificial peptide-¥â-galactosidase(Gal) fusion proteins expressed in this system accumulated to levels comprising approximately 2 to 10% of total cell proteins. Expression levels are significantly affected by the
amino
acid
compositions of the repetitive peptides. The hybrid proteins were found to from intracellular insoluble aggregates in E. coli cells.
